Choose the beach and the purpose of your visit
Say whether you want a beach visit, a restaurant, or a particular hotel entrance. A beach name alone does not identify the place where a vehicle can stop. Ask your destination or host for the appropriate road access and send it to dispatch. Do not assume that a hotel allows non-guests through its grounds or provides parking or facilities for beach visitors.
Start from your real accommodation
Send the property name, entrance, date and preferred departure time. Central Las Terrenas, Portillo, Playa Bonita and Cosón are distinct pickup locations. Include everyone in the party, luggage or beach equipment, and requested child seats. The Las Terrenas car-free guide explains wider local transport choices; it does not confirm an on-demand vehicle at either beach.
Confirm the drop-off and the remaining walk
Ask where the vehicle can legally and practically stop, how you reach the beach from there, and where you will meet again. Check surfaces, steps and walking needs with the person familiar with the access. A beachfront address is not a promise to drive onto the sand. Do not plan around an unverified coastal shortcut between the beaches or through another property; reassess the route if conditions change.
Arrange collection before you leave
Agree on the pickup point, time and a working contact. Two scheduled rides and a driver waiting during your visit are different arrangements. Confirm included waiting, changes and any extra cost in writing. Save the meeting details offline and allow time to walk back. Do not rely on finding a taxi at the beach or on the driver receiving an unacknowledged change message.
Visiting both beaches in one outing
List the first stop, onward ride, second stop and final return address when requesting a quote. Specify whether you need a vehicle between the beaches rather than assuming you can walk between your chosen access points. For a longer itinerary, compare the private-driver day-trip option with separate rides. Waiting, meals, parking and use of a property's facilities are included only when expressly agreed.
Keep airport transfers separate from local beach rides
The AZS–Playa Bonita route and AZS–Cosón route concern airport transfers to those areas; their rates are not local beach taxi fares. Give the complete journey for a separate quote and wait for the accepted route, price and availability before relying on it. On a flight day, keep the beach plan compatible with your actual airline deadlines and make explicit arrangements for luggage.
Questions we get on this
- Does the airport fare include a beach outing?
- No. A later hotel-to-beach ride, return collection or waiting arrangement needs its own confirmation and quote.
- Will the driver wait while we visit the beach?
- Only if that is part of the accepted booking. Agree on the duration and costs, or confirm a later pickup instead.
- Can we visit Playa Bonita and Cosón on the same trip?
- You can request both stops. Confirm the road access for each, the connecting ride and the final return; neither availability nor a coastal walking route is guaranteed.
